Fate Patch 7 and Fate H Patch

New patches. Unless more errors come up, this will be the last Fate update for a while as I move to working on UBW. If you're already using patch 6 you can download this instead to save some time and bandwidth since the fairly large patch_english3 didn't change at all.

The H-scenes patch is now done. With this the RN patch can now completely replace the original PC version Fate Route, which it pretty neat.
Realta Nua has a new feature that lets CGs be hidden completely unless a condition is met so if you've gone through the H-alternates without this patch the CGs for it will still show up in your gallery. If you haven't, you won't even know they're missing.

There are few new changes with WIP 7.
Lines marked with //del// have been removed from the story and the handful of new lines Kotonoha translated for me a while back have been added. (They're pretty minor though so you probably won't notice them.)
If you're curious about your current patch version it's now displayed in the corner of the Extra menu. Since this isn't an addon to a completed project this probably won't be as useful as it would have been with the Conversion patch,  but there's no harm is being prepared.

I'm pretty sure most errors have been stamped out by now, but as always if you notice any please let me know. Thanks.

  1. the deleted //del// line, is it the reference for H-scene or...?

    1. No. The deleted lines were mostly trimming things that were unnecessary, like lines about how a character sounds that were made obsolete by voice acting.

I still would like to see different font though. Which is also one of the steps needed to make it work on non-jp locale. You didn't tried to solve this mystery since last time?
I dunno, maybe some time later I'll try to give it another shot... But seriously last time I changed fonts _everywhere_ I could find and still couldn't see any differences in damn history.
As a quick reminder, hacked exe is absolutely needed for that. As I mailed you a while back I managed to change the font in menulayer (http://db.tt/kSwqQcTa), yet history was unaffected. And it is bad idea to have different fonts...

    1. To be honest, my knowledge about this kind of stuff is pretty basic. I tried to mess with fonts but nothing I tried changed anything. I can't even get the default font to change.

  3. Does the H-patch comtain censored or unscensored CGs?

  4. I plan to play the game whitout H scenes, so does patch 7 adds in english the lines from the Realta Nua version that replace the H lines from the original version that were translated for you by Kotonoha?

    1. Kotonoha only translated some lines that changed a little in Realta Nua from the previous game. The H-alternatives are still left untraslated.

  5. I actually feel bad about this, but is it supposed to look like that?

are you still trying things out with this?

Also, I tried changing the Font and the Window like the read me recommends and I noticed I can't save the "Window" settings ~it just resets to "Normal (Thick). The Font changed fine with no problems to "MS UI Gothic"

    1. Give be save file just before this issue occurs, I'll look at it. I need only one .bmp file with image but do not upload it to image hosts cause it contains additional info that may be removed.

I though it was easy to fix, but maybe not. It really should be worked around manually.

    2. BTW from what I see in scripts, this should occur in 2 places in VN. On 3rd day and 15th day so I wanna 2 save files

    3. here: http://www.solidfiles.com/d/0d3876923d/

you were right though this doesn't seem to happen in the 6th day for example..

I also added 2 more of my saves that i first noticed it.
I should note that the setting says its saved but when you exit the game and restart its reset.

Now I'm confused. When did I said something about 6th day? I was right about what? What is reset? Oo

      About your saves:
      -------
      data1.bmp - choice Fight/Rewoke.
      Rewoke: don't see anything wrong
Fight: Not sure if this is what you mean, but I noticed issue with "Your worries" phrase after Kirei disappears. Should be fixed.
      --------
      data37.bmp
      AAHHHHHHH... should be fixed.
As I said before, somewhere later there is similar issue. Maybe it fixed too, but without save I was unable to verify.
      --------
data16.bmp - Not sure what is wroing here text-wise, but If I press "Cancel" to skip Dojo, instead of main menu I see black screen. Happens also without patches but I'm not sure if save with and without patches are compatible. Possibly needs more investigation.
      --------
      data38.bmp
If you mean dots - should be fixed

    5. You said the "Window" settings thing, happened on the 3rd and 15th Days from the scripts. so I tried changing it on another day (like the 6th) and the setting remained changed.

If I try to do that in the saves i send you and change the "Window" settings from "Normal (Thick)" to "Normal (Thin)" and get the confirmation that the configuration changed.
I close the program, and then relaunch it and load the game where I left it to find the "Window" setting back to "Normal (Thick)". That's what I mean it resets.
This doesn't happen with the 6th day saves for example.

That issue with AAHHHHHHHH is NOT related to any "Window" settings. It is a problem with wordwrapo that simply is not designed to handle such long 50+ letter words.

As for the "Window" settings or whatever it is. You should NOT touch it.

    7. Yea the AAHHHH thing is something separate i mentioned, one of the saves i tried first with the window just happened to be close to it.

  6. I noticed these with the MS UI Gothic Font (some of the other ugly fonts don't have them)

    1. I don't see anything wrong on the screens?
I might be able to fix this stuff with closing quotes not being attached to the word. In fact I though I fixed it but maybe I did it only for one kind of quotes and not another.

But to be honest I don't understand the recommendation about fonts and what it is supposed to achieve. You shouldn't be able to change the font at all if you don't use special .exe

    2. Actually changes made to config script (the ones that changed stuff to MS UI Gothic) introduced some bugs. With these changes for me (on japanese windows) font config menu doesn't works at all. No fonts listed and crash after you try to change thickness.

    3. Yea its basically the " getting lost in those sentences.
I use English Windows 7 with japanese locale to run the game, and the font options are fine for me.

      In other words, can't reproduce.
If you did something with fonts - don't do it.
If you was using applocale - don't use it.
applocale is NOT the same as Japanese locale.

    5. Like I said it happens with the MS UI Gothic font Waku Waku recommended. Not with all the other fonts.

      I'm not using MS Applocale.

    6. I have more of exactly the same things for the second h-scene. Do you want me to post them?

    7. As I said, I checked scene on your screens. Nothing wrong there.
Also I said that I don't know why Waku Waku recommended to do something with MS UI Gothic. but this is totally bad idea.
Feel free to post screenshots as long as you don't touch fonts.

      Completely new wordwrapping code: http://db.tt/A4tYgD04
Also fixes "Your worries" phrase by Kirei.

This is probably most bugfree solution ever. I doubt it can be better than this. But it doesn't mean that while fixing something it didn't broke something else. Feel free to test and include if it's any better.

    10. yeah, forgot to say what exactly it fixes. It works better with these lines and handles stuff like AAHHHHH without any workarounds.

    11. Haha, haven't been home since the night I uploaded the patch and it seems I left a bit of a mess behind.

Thanks for the new wordwrapping, MeruP. I didn't realize the method was font dependent.

  7. In first place thank you very much for your work, Waku.

  8. Yeah, i already played the h scenes and for fapping it's ok, but in the game i rather the non H scenes even in japanese.
